We are thrilled to announce that the ACLU of Oregon's 2018 keynote will be delivered by academic, author, activist and freedom fighter Angela Davis. Dr. Davis is emeritus professor in the History of Consciousness at University of California, Santa Cruz, the former director of the university's Feminist Studies department and author of If They Come in the Morning, The Meaning of Freedom and Freedom is a Constant Struggle among others. She lectures and keynotes internationally on issues of feminism, social consciousness, resistance and the philosophy and history of punishment and prisons.

The Oregon Affiliate of the ACLU is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of civil liberties and civil rights. We believe that the freedoms of press, speech, assembly and religion, and the rights to due process, equal protection and privacy, are fundamental to a free people.
